In implementation of the sixth pillar of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources’ strategy, which aims to strengthen regional cooperation and strategic partnerships, the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) and the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) have agreed to expand future cooperation and increase the participation of Egyptian petroleum companies in development projects in Nigeria. This comes as a continuation of the successful performance of Egyptian Projects Operation and Maintenance Company (EPROM) in Nigerian refineries, and in recognition of the technical capabilities and extensive expertise of Egyptian petroleum project companies in executing projects across African nations.
This agreement was reached during a meeting between Eng. Salah Abdel Karim, Chief Executive Officer of EGPC, and a delegation from NNPC currently visiting Egypt. Abdel Karim emphasized that the fruitful cooperation between the well-established petroleum entities in both countries yields mutual benefits, and that the Nigerian delegation’s request to further rely on Egyptian petroleum expertise reflects the progress and advancement of Egypt’s petroleum sector.
He noted that the oil and gas sector can rely on the expertise of Egyptian companies specialized in the design, execution, management, and maintenance of petroleum projects—such as Enppi, Petrojet, EPROM, and San Misr (Maintenance Petroleum Company)—to support the current expansion plans in Nigeria. He reaffirmed Egypt’s strong commitment to partnership with African countries, and proposed organizing a joint workshop between the two sides.
The Nigerian delegation, headed by Dr. Mamouni Dagasau, Executive Vice President for Refining, presented a briefing on the progress of Nigerian refinery projects, highlighting the ongoing work carried out by EPROM at the Kaduna, Port Harcourt, and Warri refineries.
The delegation further pointed out opportunities to enhance cooperation in training technical personnel, knowledge transfer, and refinery operations, as well as leveraging Egyptian experience in establishing natural gas stations and converting vehicles to run on natural gas.
The meeting also discussed potential collaboration with Egyptian petroleum project companies, in addition to GasTech and Cargas, to further develop joint initiatives.
بحضور أيبروم .. رئيس هيئة البترول يلتقي بوفد من نيجيريا للتوسع في المشروعات الخارجية
تنفيذاً للمحور السادس من استراتيجية وزارة البترول والثروة المعدنية الهادف لتعزيز التعاون الإقليمي والشراكات، اتفقت الهيئة المصرية العامة للبترول مع هيئة البترول النيجيرية على توسيع التعاون المستقبلي، وزيادة مساهمة شركات البترول المصرية في المشروعات التطويرية بنيجيريا، وذلك استثماراً للنجاحات التي حققتها الشركة المصرية لصيانة وتشغيل المشروعات البترولية “إيبروم” في مصافي التكرير هناك، وما تمتلكه شركات المشروعات البترولية المصرية من قدرات وخبرات في تنفيذ المشروعات بالدول الأفريقية الشقيقة .
جاء ذلك خلال استقبال المهندس صلاح عبدالكريم الرئيس التنفيذى للهيئة المصرية العامة للبترول اليوم لوفد هيئة البترول النيجيرية الذي يزور مصر ، حيث أكد عبد الكريم علي أن التعاون المثمر بين الكيانات البترولية التى تمتلك خبرة وعراقة في البلدين يحقق منفعة متبادلة ، و أن طلب الوفد التوسع في الاعتماد على الخبرات المصرية البترولية يؤكد حجم التطور الذي تقدمه مصر ، وأوضح أن قطاع البترول يمكنه الاعتماد على خبرات شركات تصميم وتنفيذ وإدارة وصيانة المشروعات البترولية كإنبى وبتروجت وإيبروم وصان مصر لدعم التوسع الحالي في نيجيريا ، وانطلاقا من الإلتزام الراسخ بالشراكة المصرية مع الدول الأفريقية ، داعياً لإقامة ورشة عمل بين الجانبين .
وقدم الجانب النيجيرى برئاسة الدكتور ممونى داجازو نائب الرئيس التنفيذى للتكرير عرضًا حول تطور العمل بالمشروعات النيجيرية ، تضمن ما تقوم به شركة إيبروم المصرية من أعمال بمصافي كادونا وبورت هاركورت وواري .
وأوضح أن هناك فرصاً لزيادة التعاون في تدريب الكوادر الفنية ونقل الخبرات و التشغيل لمصافى التكرير وكذلك الاستعانة بالخبرة المصرية فى إقامة محطات الغاز الطبيعى وتحويل السيارات للعمل بالغاز .
وناقش الاجتماع فرص الاستعانة بخبرات وقدرات شركات المشروعات البترولية وكذلك شركتي غازتك وكارجاس .
