Under the guidance and hosting of Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC), EPROM organized a workshop to raise awareness for EGPC companies about the latest techniques for determining methane emissions, methods of calculation and follow-up, and the mechanism for obtaining carbon credits and documenting them, in preparation for trading them in the carbon market.
The workshop was organized with the presence and participation of carbon surveying companies accredited by EGPC and a number of certified accounting and emissions reduction companies.
It was then followed by an open discussion session between the attendees and experts, as part of the efforts of EGPC and the petroleum sector to achieve a reduction in methane emissions and obtain the highest benefit from it.
ورشة توعية لتحديد مصادر إنبعاثات الميثان وحسابها وإنشاء الأرصدة الكربونية و أسواق الكربون
قامت إيبروم بتوجيه واستضافة الهيئة العامة للبترول بتنظم ورشة عمل لتوعية شركات الهيئة بأحدث تقنيات تحديد الانبعاثات الميثان, وطرق الحساب والمتابعة والية الحصول علي ارصدة الكربون (Carbon Credit) وتوثيقها استعدادا لتداولها بسوق الكربون.
وذلك بحضور ومشاركة شركات المسح الكربوني المعتمدة من الهيئة المصرية العامة وعدد من شركات اعتماد الحسابات وخفض الانبعاثات المعتمدة.
وقد تلى العرض جلسة نقاش مفتوحة بين الحضور والخبراء وذلك في آطار جهود الهيئة المصرية العامة وقطاع البترول في تحقيق انخفاض في انبعاثات الميثان وتحصيل اعلي فائدة منه.
