Centre of Excellence for Energy Transition (CoEET)

EPROM Energy Scope

The Center of Excellence for Energy Transition (CoEET) is a joint venture formed by EPROM and ENPPI under the supervision of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources (MoPMR).

CoEET serves as a strategic arm supporting MoPMR in achieving national and regional energy sustainability goals.

Positioned as a catalyst for innovation, the Center plays a pivotal role in promoting decarbonization, enhancing energy efficiency, and accelerating the integration of renewable and low-carbon technologies across Egypt and Africa.

CoEET is committed to delivering impactful solutions that bridge the gap between traditional energy operations and the future of clean, resilient, and sustainable energy systems.

Through collaborative partnerships with national authorities, industry leaders, international organizations, and academic institutions, the Center champions the deployment of advanced technologies and capacity-building initiatives for a greener future.

Scope and Core Activities (Capacity Building and Consultancy Services)

Empowering the Energy Transition Through International Partnerships: JICA, Carbon Limits, and Beyond

The Center of Excellence for Energy Transition (CoEET) actively collaborates with leading international organizations such as JICA , CARBON LIMITS and regional stakeholders to accelerate the adoption of sustainable energy practices.

These partnerships play a crucial role in transferring global expertise, introducing cutting-edge technologies, and supporting capacity-building initiatives.

Through joint programs, technical workshops, pilot projects, and knowledge exchange, CoEET ensures alignment with international best practices while tailoring solutions to Egypt’s national energy strategy and Africa’s growing decarbonization needs.

EPROM offers a comprehensive portfolio of technical training programs focused on energy efficiency and energy transition.

These courses are designed to equip professionals at all levels with the knowledge and tools required to support sustainable energy practices within the petroleum and industrial sectors.

Our training programs cover a wide range of topics, including but not limited to:

  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM).
  • ISO 50001 Implementation & Compliance.
  • Energy Auditing (CEA) & Optimization Techniques.
  • Energy Transition Awareness Program for Top Management, delivered through the CoEET.
  • In addition, EPROM provides customized energy training tailored to the needs of technicians, engineers, operators, and senior decision-makers.

With a proven track record of delivering dozens of specialized programs, EPROM plays a key role in building national capacity and advancing energy efficiency across Egypt’s petroleum sector.

EPROM conducts comprehensive energy audits and performance reviews to identify energy saving opportunities in refining, petrochemical, and gas facilities.

Our services are including but not limited to :

  • Fired heaters and boiler assessment.
  • Steam & condensate system reviews.
  • Energy management system implementation.
  • Digital energy monitoring solutions.
  • Technical support for energy benchmarking and KPIs.

EPROM has successfully completed energy audits and improvement projects across major facilities including APC, APRC, SOPC, ELAB, and CORC.

Enabling Integration of Solar, Electrification & Waste-to-Energy

EPROM has launched a new renewable energy initiative to power its administrative building using solar energy, reinforcing its commitment to sustainability and energy transition.

Current initiatives also include:

  • Fuel switching feasibility (e.g., natural gas to green electricity).
  • Decarbonization strategies for flare recovery and energy storage.
  • Power and utilities optimization via load management.

EPROM supports renewable energy integration across petroleum and industrial facilities by enabling hybrid power strategies, waste heat utilization, and solar photovoltaic feasibility.

Through its CoEET, EPROM aligns energy transition projects with Egypt Vision 2030 and international ESG benchmarks.

EPROM leads hydrogen optimization across Egypt and Africa’s Refineries and Petrochemical companies that are operated by EPROM.

Core Capabilities:

  • Hydrogen Network Management.
  • Hydrogen System Optimization.
  • Hydrogen Recovery & Profitability.
  • Green & Blue Hydrogen Integration.
  • Hydrogen for Sustainability & Decarbonization.

EPROM promotes sustainable hydrogen pathways by integrating hydrogen with CO₂ capture technologies, enabling the production of low-carbon methanol and the recovery of ammonia.

These solutions support the development of cleaner fuels and contribute to the circular economy and decarbonization targets.

EPROM delivers complete hydrogen solutions covering production, storage, transport, and utilization, enabling efficient integration into refining, energy, and chemical sectors.
